AVAPE promotes every two years the “AVAPE International Congress on Rehabilitation and Inclusion”. Organized as a Forum along interdisciplinary lines, the gathering is dedicated to professional people from the public and private sectors, non-governmental organizations and foundations that are active in the fields of rehabilitation and inclusion of persons with disabilities, as well as the management of social organizations, diversity, social responsibility and sustainable programs.

The event provides to the participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge, the contrast of professional experiences and the disclosure of the social network model. There are also debate trends, as well as the consolidation of integrated working involving private companies, public agencies and third sector organizations in constructing responsible initiatives that are also sustainable, innovative and that bring about transformation, leading to the creation of egalitarian and supportive opportunities for global society.

 

The Congress count on the participation of well-known specialists, high-flying executives and representatives of national and international financing agencies and organizations, who presents themes dedicated to the cause of sustainable and inclusive development.

The two last editions of the Congress brought together protagonists of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd sectors from America, Europe and Asia Continents. The event promoted in 2007, received 46 speakers, 14 from international organizations including IADB – Inter American Development Bank, NGO Alliance, AIR - American Institutes for Research, Melwood, TransCen Incorporation, Penn-Mar Organization and the European Platform for Rehabilitation.

For this year of 2009 the focus on Social Entrepreneurship aims to bring presentations based on experiences and practices from public, private  and social organizations  and, also, the main trends and possible solutions for important themes of the current macroeconomic and social global scenario.

The AVAPE International Congress will continue to pursue its goal of expanding and updating the knowledge and methodologies used in Brazil and worldwide, within the perspective of continuing to develop knowledge in the hope that innovative actions can contribute to the cause of Disabilities and Inclusion.
